Summary

Taynuilt signal box was taken out of use early in 1986 when simplified signalling arrangements were installed for the later introduction of Radio Electronic Token Block. Electric Token Block working was retained in the meantime (No Signalman Key Token to Oban). The arrangements were altered early in 1987, when right-hand running was introduced through the crossing loop. RETB was commissioned in 1988, and Taynuilt became a token exchange point. For a period of just four weeks, Taynuilt marked the temporary limit of RETB operation.
