SUNDAY 4 MAY - OBAN GOODS JN. - The box will be closed as a block post and the token section extended to apply Oban Station/Taynuilt distance 12 miles 962 yards. All points worked therefrom will be disconnected out of use pending removal and secured for movements along the Up and Down main lines with the exception of the connection Up main to goods yard, which will become hand operated. All signals will be removed with the exception of the Down main distant signal which will become the Down main distant for Oban Station Box.
The undernoted associated permanent way and signalling alterations will be carried out:-
Oban Station - The carriage siding will be removed and the Up main end of the connection thereto disconnected out of use pending removal and secured for movements to and from platform 1. The Up main end of the connection, Up main to platform 2, will be disconnected out of use pending removal and secured for movements to and from platform 1 and the platform end secured for movements along platform 2. The platform end of the connection, Down main to platform 3 will be disconnected out of use pending removal and secured for movements to and from platform 3.
The trap points in the Down main will be repositioned 28 yards nearer box and become facing to Down direction trains.
The loading bank nearer the goods yard will be shortened by 50 yards and a buffer stop erected at extremity.
A signal designated Down home 1 signal, will be provided 650 yards on Taynuilt side of box on left of drivers, arm 16 feet above rail level. A telephone with sign will be provided at the signal.
The driver of a train brought to a stand at the Down home 1 signal must immediately telephone the signalman and advise him of its arrival.
A miniature arm signal will be provided on gantry on left of Up starting signal, arm 21 feet above rail level and apply, Up main to head shunt.
Platform 1 and the Up main will be redesignated goods siding and head shunt respectively and the Down main will become the single line.
The following signals will be removed:-
Up main starting
Platform 1 starting
Down main distant
Down main back shunt and associated limit of shunt indicator
Down main to Up main shunt ahead
Carriage siding to Up main
Up main back shunt
The Up main shunt ahead signal will now apply, goods siding to head shunt.
