ALTERATION OF AND ADDITIONAL SIGNALS AT PASSENGER STATION and OBAN (GOODS YARD) JUNCTION BOXES, OBAN

OBAN PASSENGER STATION BOX

Signal alterations due to station alterations:

The new Up Home Signal for No. 1 (or arrival) Platform, replacing the existing signal, is the bracket signal on the existing post now carrying one Up and one bracket signal between the Main Lines, about 144 yards west of the signal box.

The new Advanced Up Home Signal, 91 yards west of the signal it replaces, is now the Up signal on the post carrying one Up and one bracket signal outside the Main Down Line, about 30 yards east of the signal box.

Three new bracket signals, two on left hand, one on right hand of existing Down Advanced Home Signal to Goods Yard, outside the Main Up Line, about 40 yards east of the signal box:

Nearer post of two left hand bracket signals - Main Down Advanced Home Signal (superseding existing).

Bracket signal next to Main Up Line - To Goods Yard (superseding existing).

Right hand bracket signal - Main Up Line Home Signal to No. 2 Platform.

The new Down Distant Signal is lower on same post with bracket arm of Oban Junction Homes (which see) at the south side of the Main Line, about 363 yards east of the signal box.

New Ground Disc Signals: From Carriage Siding to Main Up Line, about 8 yards east of the semaphore signal it supersedes and about 95 yards west of the signal box.

Two between Sidings, 32 yards west of the signal box:

Nearer Main Down Line - From Goods Yard Sidings at Harbour to Main Up Line, 7 yards west of semaphore signal superseded.

Further from Main Down Line - New Shunting Signal from Goods Yard to Main Down Line as far as throw-off points, about 132 yards west of the signal box.

Main Up Line to Main Down Line, between Up and Down Main Lines, about 97 yards east of the signal box and 76 yards west of superseded semaphore signal.

The other signals remain unaltered.

Runaway points to intercept runaway vehicles placed in Carriage Siding, about 79 yards west of the signal box.

Throw-off points to protect Main Down Line during shunting operations placed in Main Down Line, about 132 yards east of the signal box, with a Ground Disc placed by the side of the Main Down Line opposite the points.

OBAN (GOODS YARD) JUNCTION BOX

New Down Home Signal to Goods Yard (superseding existing) is the bracket signal on the post already described for the Down Distant Signal for Oban Passenger box, carrying two Down and one bracket signal, on the south side of the line, about 60 yards east of the signal box.

Ground Disc Signal (Main Up Line to Dead End) (superseding a semaphore signal), placed on the post carrying one Up, one shunting back signal and one disc, between the Main Up Line and Goods Yard Siding, about 84 yards west of the signal box. A new skeleton arm on this post is for Shunting Back along the Main Line.

New Ground Disc Signal (From Goods Yard), on the north side of the Goods Siding, about 84 yards west of the signal box, outside the existing post carrying two Up signals, the lower of which is superseded by the disc.

The other signals remain unaltered.

To come into operation on Tuesday, the 14th day of January, 1896.
