SUNDAY 24 APRIL - WEST HIGHLAND RADIO ELECTRONIC TOKEN BLOCK - COMMISSIONING BETWEEN TAYNUILT AND OBAN - The Special Notice, previously issued, (dated 27 March, 1988) entitled WORKING OF WEST HIGHLAND LINE - ISSUED TO INCORPORATE SOUTH END COMMISSIONING OF RADIO ELECTRONIC TOKEN BLOCK WORKING BETWEEN CRAIGENDORAN JUNCTION AND UPPER TYNDRUM, AND CRIANLARICH AND TAYNUILT will be amended as necessary to incorporate the above commissioning between Taynuilt and Oban by means of a Special Amendment Sheets to take effect from 24 April 1988.
Stations and Depots with trainmen working who previously received the Special Notice, through the area, not having received this Special Amendment Sheets must advise the Regional Operations Manager, ScotRail House, Glasgow by telephone (041-2603/2280). |

Page 1 OPENING ARRANGEMENTS Amend to read:- The amendments to the permanent way and signalling arrangements herein to reflect the commissioning of the Radio Electronic Token Block working between Taynuilt and Oban, as shown in this Amendment Sheet, will be brought into use on Sunday 24 April. Add to list of emergency BT telephone locations in 5th paragraph:- "Connel and Oban" SIGNALLING ARRANGEMENTS Page 2 Helensburgh Upper Delete :- 2nd sentence of 2nd paragraph - "Associated AWS track equipment will be provided". Page 4 Taynuilt Amend entry under this heading to read :- The notice boards, previously provided, worded "Radio Token Working" and "End of Radio Token Working" will be removed. Add :- Connel Ferry The following boards will be provided, on left of drivers except where otherwise stated:- Facing to Up direction trains "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed", with supplementary board worded, "Drivers in possession of Long Section Token may Proceed" - on the single line at the Taynuilt end of the platform. "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed" - on loop line at the exit connection on the Taynuilt side. Reflectorised distant board - 1900 yards from and on the approach to Up single line stop board. Facing to Down direction trains "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed", with supplementary board worded, "Drivers in possession of Long Section Token may Proceed" - on single line at Oban end of platform. "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed" - on loop line at the exit connection on the Oban side, on right of drivers. Reflectorised distant board - 1060 yards in rear of Down single line stop board. A.W.S track equipment will be provided 200 yards on the approach to each distant board. Double-sided Station limits boards will be provided 300 yards from and on the Taynuilt side of the loop exit connection and 440 yards from and on the Oban side of the Down single line stop board. Oban The following boards will be provided, on left of drivers except where otherwise stated:- Facing to Up direction trains "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed" - approaching exit from platform line. "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed" - approaching exit from Loco Release line, on right of drivers. "Stop - Obtain Token and Permission to Proceed" - approaching exit from Oil Depot. A Double-sided Station limits board will be provided 300 yards from and on the Taynuilt side of the exit connection from the Oil Depot.
